 The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the CBSE 10th, 12th examinations every year. This year, the CBSE 10th exams 2021 have been cancelled amid rising COVID cases while CBSE 12th exams 2021 have been postponed. The new exam schedule for CBSE 12th will be released on June 1 after reviewing the ongoing pandemic situation. CBSE will release the CBSE 10th result 2021 by June 20.

Earlier, CBSE 10th, 12th examinations 2021 were slated to be conducted between May 4 and June 14, 2021. The CBSE date sheet for the theoretical exams was released on February 2 and revised on March 5. CBSE admit cards were to be made available to students 10-15 days before the examinations. The Board began conducting CBSE practical exams 2021 from March 1 only later to be cancelled.
Due to the pandemic and resulting lockdowns, the academic session 2020-21 had started late and was conducted online. In view of this, the Board had decided to reduce the CBSE syllabus 2021 for Classes 10th and 12th by 30 percent.

Last year, CBSE class 10th exams were scheduled from February 15 till March 20, while CBSE class 12th exams 2020 were scheduled between February 15 and March 30. Some of the examinations that got postponed due to outbreak of novel coronavirus were finally cancelled. The Board declared the CBSE 10th Result 2020 on July 15 and the CBSE 12th Result on July 13 at 12:40 pm. Students can check their CBSE Results 2020 for classes 10 and 12 through the official website of the CBSE. Students can check their CBSE Results using roll number, date of birth, admit card number along with the school centre number. The pass percentage at class 10, 12 was recorded at 91.46 per cent, and 88.78 per cent respectively.

CBSE is the national education board of the country for public and private schools. Recognised worldwide, CBSE is an autonomous body that works under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The current chairman of the Board is Manoj Ahuja.

In 1952, the CBSE was given its present name ‘Central Board of Secondary Education’, and in the year 1962, the Board was reconstituted. The Board provides affiliations to various schools and all of them have to follow the NCERT curriculum. The CBSE jurisdiction stretches all over India as well as beyond the national geographical boundaries of the country. The CBSE Board has seen rapid growth and expansion at the level of Secondary education resulting in improved quality and standard of education in institutions. From 309 schools under it back in 1962, the Board now has 21,271 schools in India, 228 schools in 25 foreign countries. There are 1,138 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 3,011 Government/Aided Schools, 16,741 Independent Schools, 595 Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalayas, and 14 Central Tibetan Schools, as of May 1, 2019.

CBSE 10th 2020-21CBSE 12th 2020-21

CBSE’s main aim is to serve the educational institutions more effectively and wants to be responsive to the educational needs of those students whose parents were employed in the Central Government and had frequently transferable jobs. Through the regional offices that are set up by the CBSE, the body maintains educational standards across the country by monitoring the activities of these regional offices on a regular basis. These regional offices in various parts of the country take care of the day-to-day administration of the affiliated schools. The Board conducts centralized examinations for classes 10th and 12th every year in the months of February and March.

The CBSE Class 10 Board Exams are called All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) and the Class 12 Board exams are called – All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE). CBSE made the Class X board exams optional in 2010-2011, however, from 2018 onwards the exam has been made compulsory for all the students.

What's new in CBSE Exams 2021

The Board reduced the CBSE Syllabus 2021 by 30 per cent due to COVID19 pandemic followed by extended lockdowns leading to delay in the commencement of the academic session. It is planning to further slash the syllabus.
